Coleton is my 13 yr old amazing son. He has the opportunity to go on a once in a lifetime Educational trip in October of 2010 with his school. The trip is a Smithsonian Student Travel Tour that lasts 6 days and takes the kids to Washington DC, and Philadephia. They have a very full itinerary and will see the following historical sites:
- Smithsonian Museum of National Air and Space
- Smithsonian Museum of Natural History
- A night tour of D.C to include Lincoln Memorial, WWII Memorial, Korean War Veterans Memorial
- A guided Tour of D.C – Arlington National Cemetary, Marine Corps War Memorial, Washington Monument, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, White House, Mount Vernon, Capital Hill, Supreme Court, Library of Congress, National Archives, Ford’s Theatre, Peterson Home
- Tour of Gettysburg National Military Park
- Gettysburg Museum
- Tour of Philadelphia – Old City Cultural District, Penn’s Landing, Washington Square District, Rittenhouse Square District, Betsy Ross House, Independence Hall, Liberty Bell Center, National Constitution Center
The cost per student is $1577 and inlcudes Airfare, Bus Travel, Hotels and two meals per day, along with entry fees to all the events. The cost per parent is $1762 (which one of us will definitely be going along) The school district is not providing any means of raising money for the students to attend, so we have come up with some fundraising ideas raise money for CJ. Even though we have a year until the trip, we will start paying for it now, on a monthly basis through the school district.
To help raise the deposit funds, I am offering my customers Holiday Banner for $15 each. The holiday banner will be 468 x 60 or 468 x 100 – you pick the size. It will be something you can use for advertising your website for the holidays, or something festive just to place on your website. You will provide the text and you pick the holiday – either Halloween, Thanksgiving or Christmas – maybe you’d like one of each! The banners are Static and will be provided to you for your use, or I can install them into your site for you.
